Senior Pastor Phil Spry
Phil attended San Jose Christian College (now William Jessup University) in California and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, where his major was evangelism. He and his wife, Toni have planted seven new churches, and restarted two others. Collective morning attendance is over 6,000 people. The Sprys live in Clayton where for the last several years they have concentrated their efforts helping church planters around the country. Along with starting Christ Church Phil is involved in church planting consulting, coaching, and conference speaking.
In addition Phil has started two Christian radio stations, a Crisis Pregnancy Center, a TV ministry, a Creation Science association, and an organization that has partnered with nearly 800 new church plants in 48 States.
Executive Pastor Tim Minton
Tim Minton serves as the Executive Vice President for the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County. During Tim’s tenure, the HBA has grown to become the second largest HBA in the country with over 2,500 members who provide more than $2 billion to the local economy annually.
Tim received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar and his MBA from Elon College. He serves on the National Executive Officer Board of Directors and the NAHB Public Affairs Committee. Tim is a member of the Wake County Blue Ribbon Task Force. He was selected as the HBA New Executive Officer of the Year in 2008.
Tim and his wife, Susan, have three children.
Tim (and Susan) have been part of several church plants in the last fifteen years. Tim is a competent Bible teacher and handles day to day operations at Christ Church.
Worship Director Susan Minton
Susan attended the University of South Carolina, and graduated from The Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a degree in communications.
She has played piano since the age of four, and has played and sung for congregational worship and numerous small groups over the years.
Susan has led both adult worship teams and children’s choirs and has recorded some of her original songs as singles. She is a prolific Christian song writer and has ministered on the staff of a 10,000 member church in California. Susan directs the music program at Christ Church and serves in our children’s department.
Women’s Ministries Director Toni Spry
Toni, an accomplished musician, attended Temple University in Philadelphia and is the co-author of the bestselling book, The Fulfilled Woman. She has spoken at women’s conferences, retreats, and Bible studies, and has a special burden for teaching and discipling Christian women. Toni leads our Women’s ministry department. Toni and Phil have two children and six grandchildren.
Brian and Amanda Rose
Brian comes to us with extensive youth and men’s ministry experience. He has coached church sports teams and led high school and Jr Hi youth programs. He and his wife Amanda have two toddlers that keep them on their toes. Brian works for a financial services organization here in the Triangle. Amanda coordinates our nursery ministry. She is tasked to insure that all of our little ones are cared for in a safe and caring environment. Our nursery staff report to Amanda. This is the second church plant in which the Roses have participated.
Bill and Anna Dinwiddie
Bill and Anna have been married for 30 years and have two married children. Bill graduated from Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo. He spent 23 years in fulltime pastoral ministry serving churches in Missouri, Oklahoma and North Carolina. Currently, Bill owns a kitchen and bath design company in Apex, NC. His passion is to teach people about Jesus Christ and help them to grow up in Him. Bill teaches numerous small group and discipleship meetings. He serves as the pastor of discipleship at Christ Church.
Anna grew up as a PK (preacher’s kid) in Joplin, Missouri. She also attended Ozark Bible College there. Anna has taught children’s Sunday school, youth groups and VBS. She and Bill spent many years working in Christian camps. Anna leads the children’s church ministry at Christ Church.
