                                           Greetings, River Parishes family!

As we celebrate the abundance of God's grace and love manifest in our lives, may we be granted courage and strength to pay it forward to those who are less fortunate. Perhaps we can we lend an ear to someone who feels invisible or unheard. Our generosity of spirit and acts of kindness bring forth so much healing and comfort to our broken and hurting world.

Looking back over this past year, I recognize the abundance of God's grace and love at work among us in so many ways. I feel blessed to be a part of the work of God in this place, and I am so thankful for each and every one of you!

Over the last few months, I have been participating in a program called the "Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in Ministry," a creative alliance between Syracuse University, LeMoyne College and the Harvard Business School of Management. The Fellowship is an ecumenical partnership of ministry leaders who serve all across central New York.

Along with the other 12 fellows in my cohort, I have spent the last few months developing innovative and creative leadership skills, and working to produce an Innovative Mission Project to pilot in our local communities. I am energized and eager to share the project with you now.

Beginning in Epiphany 2020, we (the River Parishes) will host a new series of story sharing groups (open to anyone in any of our communities), called: "Flipping the Script" (see the blue box below for more information). In these groups we will come together to enjoy a meal and share stories with one another. The goals are to listen, share and learn from one another, to welcome newcomers and visitors, to expand our fellowship, and to have lots of FUN!

In December, the River Parishes Innovation Team (did you know we have one of these?) will be fine-tuning the details, so mark your calendars for the opening date (January 8) and stay tuned for more information. Let me know if you feel called to join in this exciting process of innovation and creativity. Who knew that entrepreneurial ministry could be so much fun?

With the beginning of Advent, and another liturgical year, I can't help but say, one more time, what a joy it is to be here with all of you. I am so blessed and excited to begin another year of our journey together!

Christmas pageant

Dec 22, 2019

Here's what's going on in and around the Church community:

                                                Kid's Night Out

The "Kids Night Out" program has been thriving this fall.

At each evening since our Fall start up, we have had 15 - 20 kids

from the community in attendance. We have worked on original art

projects and worked (along with the Sunday school) to create Christmas

Cards to be shipped to Fort Drum military members who are currently deployed.

For the December "Kids Night Out" program, we will be doing some caroling on

Saturday, December 14. Adults are welcome to bundle up and join in on the fun!

Meet us at Christ Church at 2:00 PM. We will close our program that evening

             at 5:00 PM.

Thanks for being a part of the Episcopal River Parishes of Christ Church in Clayton, St. John's in Cape Vincent and Church of St. Lawrence in Alexandria Bay!

We are developing a set of "wish lists" to help offset the cost of items we would like to purchase. If you are interested in donating for these specific items, please discuss with the contact person listed with the item.
